Spotify Playlist Comments Off

Hopefully by now you’ve discovered Spotify and have been enjoying it as much as we have? To celebrate all that’s great about Spotify we’ve put together a playlist with a selection of tunes we’re currently listening to.

Spotify users can listen to our playlist by clicking here, and what’s more we’ve made this playlist collaborative, so you can add songs that you love to it – just drag and drop songs into playlist in the left hand column of Spotify.

We plan to make this a regular feature on the website – hopefully there’ll be a new playlist roughly once a month.

Wednesday’s Gig Cancelled Comments Off

Unfortunately we’ve had to pull out of this Wednesday’s gig at The Rainbow in Birmingham due to illness.

We hate cancelling gigs and always do everything in our power to avoid this, however in this instance Michael is too ill to perform. Apologies to anyone who has made travel arrangements, the gig will continue with headliners Club Smith and The Maybes, so we suggest you check them out.

Hopefully everyone will be fit again for the show supporting The Cinematics and Hip Parade at the O2 Academy 3 in Birmingham on April 27th, we’ll keep you posted.

EP Update from Steve Comments Off

I am pleased to report that we have completed the mixes for the ‘Kings of the Ghost Town Mile’ EP. A weight has been lifted and no sooner than it was, we all went down with a plague (minus David, who lives far enough away to avoid infection) and have been couch-ridden for a week!

We are really pleased with the results and are now focussing on the artwork – a release date will be announced very soon and it’s not going to be like the G’n'R Chinese Democracy farce, we will actually put it out this year!

Can I recommend that any of you who like to read pick up a copy of ‘Things The Grandchildren Should Know’ by Mark Oliver Everett (or ‘E’ from the band ‘The Eels’ as you may know him), if you haven’t already? This book has played a massive part in keeping me focussed and excited about life over the past month and it has also reignited my love of the man’s music. I was always a fan, but I really listen to his songs in a different light now knowing his story a bit better.

Thanks to everyone that sent us messages on Twitter about the music they’re currently enjoying, see the list below for some of our current favourites and feel to fire me back any of your recommendations, be it books or music.

Hope to see you at one of our gigs this month!

Steve x
